Unicoi Animal Hospital
is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care for the pets in our community. Our goal is to help our patients live longer, healthier lives, because we understand that our pets are not just our animals, but are our family.
About Our Vet
Dr. Shelton graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Having grown up in Erwin, it was her dream to be able to stay home and serve the veterinary needs of her community. This dream became a reality when she was offered a position at Unicoi Animal Hospital in 2001 which eventually led to her being able to purchase the hospital in 2008. Since then, she has been the sole practitioner in the practice, working everyday to care for the pets in our area. Dr. Shelton is an active member of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a participating veterinarian with the Morris Animal Foundation's Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Dr. Shelton is married to her high school sweetheart, Ed Shelton, and they have one wonderful son, Austin. When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr Shelton loves spending time with her family, including her furry child, Elle. She loves traveling, spending time on the lake and watching the Tennessee Vols.
